DESCRIPTION
Description
The MRA Renegade MK II is a novel, spring assisted, straight pull, magazine fed firearm design. It is composed of a proprietary receiver, bottom metal, and proprietary bolt carrier with integrated, swap-able left or right hand charging handle. This builder kit is compatible with a wide variety of commonly available firearm parts and accessories. In this way, the user can build a rifle to meet their specific utility and budget.
The MRA Renegade MK II is designed and intended to not be capable of discharging ammunition in a semi-automatic fashion. The design is novel and is not derived from any restricted or prohibited firearm. Due to the action type and novel design, this firearm meets the legal standard of a non-restricted firearm as per the Canadian Firearms Act and related Regulations. The minimum overall length when assembled into a working firearm must be over 26″ to meet the standard of non-restricted.
We recommend using our MRA Renegade Barrel Torque Rod when assembling or performing work on the Renegade.

MkII Receiver
This is my third Renegade; but my first MkII Receiver set. Extremely pleased with the machining quality. Fit and finish is excellent. Love that the bolt catch is held in place by a threaded pin rather than standard press fit roll pin. This is a nice touch. The included upper and lower tensioning screw was a pleasant surprise with this kit as I had purchased separately for my other builds. The MkII is a solid and well built kit for anyone wishing to save their AR parts and put together a great non restricted rifle.

The good Really nice machining
The good: Really nice machining nice smooth metal no signs of poor attention to detail really like my FDE finish its nice and smooth and covered the receiver well its darker than the pictured finish really happy. I installed an 18.5 Lilja barrel and am regularly shooting sub .5 groups. The bad: When the Cerakote was applied the inside of the pins holes and other tight spots weren't plugged or protected from the finish I had to take small drill bits and an exacto knife to get into these areas and clean/scrape them out (by hand not power tools as I was worried about damaging the receiver) to make the trigger group mag release and catch pins fit and function smoothly. this build took me about 4 hours to complete I would guess the guys that get the black model won't have this issue. The ugly: Oh my god, please please figure out some sort of bolt catch/release. Trying to fit a pmag that won't allow the bolt to be closed on a full 10 rounds is a bear, also leaving the bolt open at the range to cool is impossible with out jamming something in. Want to have a quick clean and run a rod down the barrel? nope you have to pull that bolt and take the buffer tube off, its really inconvenient and the only thing I really hate. Summary: Over all I love this rifle my friends are always trying to get behind it and shoot it. highly recommend if you have ar parts lying about, you will be able to build a nice accurate compact rifle you can use to dominate dog town. Once you get past the bolt catch issue and used to cocking it every shot its a slick little rig.
