Beretta Optima Choke Ported HP 12ga tubes stand up to the heat of competition.

Manufactured from high strength steel, these chokes guarantee significant corrosion resistance and have the ability to withstand the rigors of steel shot.

Beretta Optima Choke Ported HP 12ga tubes are fully interchangeable on all Beretta barrels that are threaded for Optima-Choke® HP.

These choke tubes are designed for 12 gauge shotguns with the Optima-Choke® HP system.

***Please note that the constriction cut off for factory made choke tubes with steel shot is a Modified constriction, factory made choke tubes with a constriction tighter than Modified such as Improved Modified and Full are not suitable for use with steel shot.

Additionally, rifled or sabot slugs should not be used in a factory made choke tube with a constriction tighter than Improved Cylinder.***

Can I use Steel Shot with my Beretta Choke Tubes?

We suggest that – when using Steel Shot – you only use choke tubes marked with the SP (Steel Proof) identification on the side and that you use the most open choke system possible – i.e. Cylinder / Improved Cylinder / or Modified.  We DO NOT recommend use of Steel Shot in the X-Tra Full Turkey / Full / or Improved Modified choke tube. As with any shotgun, always be sure to check your choke tubes during use to verify that they are tight in the barrel. Loose choke tubes can cause barrel damage.

Which shotguns does the Beretta Optima Choke Ported HP fit?

It fits 12 gauge Beretta barrels threaded for the Optima-Choke HP system. It will not fit barrels threaded for Beretta's older Mobilchoke or Optima-Choke Plus systems. If you are unsure which system your barrel uses, check the markings on the barrel or ask us before ordering.

Can you shoot steel shot through the Optima Choke Ported HP?

Yes. These chokes are made from high-strength steel built to withstand steel shot and resist corrosion. For waterfowl loads, follow Beretta's guidance on which constrictions to pair with steel.

What does porting do on a shotgun choke?

The ports vent some of the propellant gas sideways as the shot leaves the barrel. That reduces muzzle rise and helps you get back on target faster for a second shot. The trade-off is a slightly louder report at the shooter's position.

Should I choose the Full or the Skeet constriction?

Choose Full for longer shots, such as trap or birds at a distance, where a tight pattern matters. Choose Skeet for close, fast targets on the skeet field or flushing upland birds, where a wider pattern helps you connect.
